Issuing a Tax Identification Number (AFM)
Through the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE) online or at the local tax office in your area of residence, you can obtain an AFM, a “Kleidarithmos” (security code), and Taxisnet credentials.

Submit your application by completing your personal details and attaching the required documents, then immediately join a video call or schedule an appointment for identity verification. After the video call, if the verification is successful, your AFM and Kleidarithmos will be issued immediately and sent to the email address you provided in your application.
Documents Commonly Required for Issuing a Tax Identification Number (AFM)
- Valid passport
- Residence permit or proof of submission of a residence permit application
- Proof of residential address (rental agreement, statement/declaration of accommodation/hosting, or utility bill such as electricity or water showing the address)
- Contact phone number and email address
- Proof of purpose of stay in Greece (studies, employment, internship, research)
