Study Visa H.1

  1. Official acceptance letter from University of Patras
  2. Proof of sufficient financial means (evidence that you can cover your living, accommodation, and study expenses in Greece.)
  3. Parents’ or guardians’ consent for minors under 18 years old.
  4. Visa fee payment 90€ (payable at the consulate when you submit your application).

The Greek Embassy or Consulate has the right to request additional documentation. This list is only suggestive as per published Greek laws.

Residence Permit for Studies H.1

  1. Certified copy of your passport with the required national entry visa (Visa D).
  2. Proof of enrollment and fee payment at your educational institution, if required.
  3. Certificate of Greek language proficiency, if required for enrollment.
  4. Proof that you have sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses.
  5. In case the applicant is requesting a residence permit equal to the amount of time of the maximum duration of the study program, a certificate from the academic institution stating the total duration of the program will be required.
  6. Proof of full health insurance, either through the national social security system or a private insurance policy.
  7. Electronic fee of 150€.

As stated on the website of the Decentralized Administration of Peloponnese, Western Greece, and the Ionian (https://apd-depin.gov.gr/adeies-diamonis/ ), the residence permit applicant is additionally required to submit:

  • Four (4) recent passport photographs (4×6 cm, without borders), also provided on a CD
  • Payment of the fee for the independent document card (Code 2119), amounting to 16€.

In cases where the residence permit has a validity period equal to the maximum duration of the specific study program, a certificate of participation in examinations, issued every two years by the relevant educational institution, must be submitted, along with an academic transcript for the same period showing overall progress, or a detailed progress report from the competent authority in the case of postgraduate studies or the preparation of a doctoral dissertation.
